Run Tara, Run: A Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 6 Review

The title of this episode was called “swear” and I swore I wouldn’t like this episode until the very end.

Four episodes have gone by since I did the season premiere review of the Walking Dead and you pretty much missed nothing. For those of you who don’t have cable and catch it online like I do…spoilers ahead!

Previously on AMC’s The Walking Dead:

Episode 2 (“The Kingdom of Make Believe” aka “The Well”): In the Season 6 Finale, Carol was a sole mission to die and Morgan left their safe zone to let her know that she’ll never make it out there. By this episode, we find Carol and Morgan in a new community, The Kingdom, while Carol is being nursed back to health. The Kingdom is ran by some dude by the name of King Ezekiel who took his college ENC101 class too seriously. King Ezekiel has a pet tiger who is ridiculous as he is. Morgan finds out that Negan’s group (the Saviors) has the Kingdom by the balls. The people live happily and have no idea of the deal with Negan to give half their supplies.Carol calls Ezekiel out on his “kingdom” bantering. Ezekiel states it’s a bluff but it fancied by Carol calling him out on his bullshit. Carol leaves the Kingdom to a little cottage outside the Kingdom (basically two steps away from another safe-zone), but Carol doesn’t care. She much rather take her chances with the walkers than by The Kingdom of Make Believe.

Episode 3: (“Daryl Eats Dogfood” aka “The Cell”): Oh no, two episode later and we found out what happened to Daryl. He is locked in a cell at Negan’s camp. They keep him dirty and naked (sorry, no full frontal nudity), and feed him dog food on a bun. He refuses to submit to Negan’s acts of terror. We learn about what happened to Dwight and his half burned face. Negan stole his and everyone’s wives and force them into marriage. The men work and the women work to please Negan. They try to break Daryl. Daryl does not break. Daryl Eats More Dogfood.

Episode 4: (“Negan wants to Low-Key Service Rick” aka “Service”): Guess who is coming to dinner? Negan and his crew stop by Alexandria to remind Rick who is boss. They take half their stuff but mainly mattresses. Negan taunts Rick about how he murder his kin-folk. Rick has given up on his mission to kill Negan. Negan grabs a fist full of Rick’s dick…yes, Negan put his hand on Rick’s member with no shame. Negan goes looking for Maggie, Rick replies by showing him her grave. No one questions where Sasha went. Negan’s men burn Alexandria’s mattresses. Now there’s no place to service Rick.

Episode 5: (“Carl Got Swag” aka “Go Getters”): Maggie and Sasha are alive at the Hilltop who is run by the local town drunk. Maggie and her fetus are all good. They get patched up but now have to take it easy. Jesus (no guys, his name is legit Jesus)  and Sasha plan on helping her stay but the Drunk wants the two ladies to take a hike before Negan and his gang of killers come ‘a knocking…ironically, they do. They sent a message to the camp by having walkers invade their campgrounds. Maggie, Sasha, and Jesus save the day. Drunk wants to give away Maggie and Sasha to the Saviors but fails miserably. Elsewhere, Carl and Enid have a one-on-one session in the woods. Carl makes his moves and kisses her before he leaves to find Negan’s camp. Jesus comes along for the ride.

See told you, you didn’t missed much. Now for episode 6 review: “Run Tara, Run” aka “Swear”.

The episode starts off with Tara and Heath scavenging for food and weapons. Right off the bat, I’m not excited to watch this episode with the two lamest characters. However, Heath and his faux dreads have grown on me like Sasha eventually did. They find a deserted camp on a bridge. Tara tugs on a bag and finds..a horde of walkers under a pile of sand! Both of them try to fight off the walkers and right there…I don’t care about their lives. Tara falls over and winds up on the shore of some beach. For a second, I forget I’m watching walking dead and could’ve sworn I was watching a scene from Fear the Walking Dead Season 2. She is eventually save by a young girl named Cyndie.

Tara is found by a group of women that have created their own camp on the beach shore away from everything. They have an abundance of people, food, and water. This is camp Oceanside. Tara lies about where she’s from at first but finally gives in. The leader is an elderly women who explains to Tara that Negan’s group killed all of the men and they all found their escape hidden by the beach side. She tells Tara that if she doesn’t stay, their going to have to kill her. Tara takes it as an option to go but still think that she’ll be alive to tell the story.

Two women escort her out with enough food and water and set a trap to kill her. Tara makes a run for it and is saved again by Cyndie. They make it back to the bridge and find a walker with dreads. Tara thinks it’s Heath but the walker is wearing a skirt so there’s no way Heath found time to cross-dress at a time like this. Tara finally makes it back to Alexandria. She finds out that her girlfriend died (and that was many episodes ago). Rosita asks Tara if she knows a place where they have weapons. Remembering Cyndie and the old ladies threat, she looks at the Oceanside bracelet given to her and she shakes her head no. No word on where Heath is at the end of the episode.

…Boy I swear.
